The Truth About Jones & Begonia

  • Brett Jones: $1.8 Million Giveaway: Brett Jones promised to "fix what the previous administration did," but instead, he handed $1.8 million to his buddy Josh Pinheiro without a court order or investigation. The only thing he’s fixed is Pinheiro’s bank account.

  • Vineyard Drive Still Blocked: Vineyard Drive has been closed for years, and even though Jones campaigned on fixing these issues, the road remains blocked. He’s done nothing except take the money. Where did it go, Brett?

  • No Parks, No Progress: Jones knew millions had already been collected for parks before he took office. But under his watch, those lots remain empty, and not a single park has been built. Brett, where's our money?

  • All Talk, No Action: Jones ran on cleaning up the mess, but all he’s done is blame the past. Instead of fixing things, he's made them worse by rubber-stamping Pinheiro’s every bad decision.

  • Doug Begonia: Rubber-Stamped the $1.8 Million Heist: Doug Begonia joined Jones in approving the illegal $1.8 million payout to Pinheiro. Instead of fixing the city’s problems, he’s draining your pockets.

  • Blocked Roads in His Own District: Begonia has done nothing while De Anza Way, right in his own district, remains blocked. He’s been sitting on millions collected for this project and refuses to take action.

  • Shaunasee Village Park is a Dirt Lot: Shaunasee Village, also in Begonia’s district, was promised a park. Instead, it’s an empty lot while Begonia sits on millions collected for parks. Where’s the money, Doug?

  • Blames Everyone Else: Instead of taking responsibility for the mess in his district, Begonia points the finger at developers. He promised change but delivers nothing but excuses.

Here are the points on them both what they did together:

  • Voted to rehire Josh Pinheiro with a 10% raise, despite his previous termination.

  • Voted to pay Pinheiro an extra $1.8 millions of TAXPAYER FUNDS without providing any justification.

  • Voted to change a long-standing city rule, making it so Pinheiro could only be fired with a unanimous 5-0 vote from the council.

  • Ignored the advice of City's insurance lawyers, who opposed the payout.

All of these actions were taken without any public input, legal review, or following proper procedures.
